Paper Crafting Competition

The Department of Education, Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, organized a paper crafting activity for the B.A. 1st Semester Skill Enhancement Course (SEC – Education) students on 24th September 2025. The activity aimed to enhance students’ creativity, teamwork, and skills in using locally available and recycled materials for art and craft.

Objectives

  1. To encourage creativity and innovation among students.
  2. To promote teamwork and collaboration through group activities.
  3. To develop skills in making useful and decorative items from recycled materials.
  4. To foster awareness of sustainability through the reuse of paper and other resources.

The students were divided into groups of six and engaged in crafting flowers, baskets, and decorative items using papers, tissues, cardboard boxes, and other recycled materials. A total of 73 students participated in the activity.

The works of the students were evaluated by Dr. Alice Kenye, Veto Nakro, M Mhono Odyuo, and Chichanbeni  N  Odyuo. Based on creativity, design, and presentation, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes were awarded to the best groups. The activity was a great success, providing the students with an opportunity to explore their creative potential and learn the value of teamwork and sustainability.
