An Online Essay Writing Competition on Lotha Folklore was conducted by the Cultural Committee on 22nd July 2021. Cash prizes of Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 were awarded to the 1st and 2nd place winners while a consolation prize of Rs 500 was awarded to five students.
Khonzani Z. Odyuo of 3rd Semester bagged the first place while Chiben G. Enny of 3rd Semester was placed in the second position. Consolation prizes were given to Hachithung L. Ezung, Nzandy K. Odyuo, Subeno Y. Tungoe, Esther Y. Kikon and Thungchio Tsanglao.
The competition was organized with the objective of reconnecting the students with the dying art of storytelling and imbibing in the students an appreciation for the folk traditions of the past.
