WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2022

Responding to the call for rehabilitation of the environment made by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, to all the HEIs across the country, the Eco-club of Mount Tiyi College in collaboration with the Alumni Association of Mount Tiyi College organised a tree plantation drive in an around the college campus on the theme “Reinforcing Greenery on Campus” on World Environment day, the 5th of June 2022. The tree plantation drive was initiated to create awareness on the environmental crisis the world is in today and the need of reinforcing greenery in and around the campus. However, because of ongoing end semester exam, the college had to keep participation of students minimal so that exams of the students were not hampered. A total of 14 student volunteers and 12 teachers participated in the drive along with the Alumni Association and the non-teaching staff of the college. Libemo Kithan, Assistant Professor and Convenor of Alumni Committee of the college was the faculty coordinator for the event. In commendation of the efforts, Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) presented Certificates of appreciation to all the volunteers.
