NATIONAL SEMINAR ON NEP 2020 TRANSFORMING INDIA, 24 NOVEMBER 2023

A one day National Seminar was conducted on 24th November, 2023, at the Conference Hall of Mount Tiyi College Wokha, Nagaland, sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science research- NERC, Shillong. The organising committee comprised of Dr. Azhanuo Peki Coordinator, Dr I. Koktiba Convener, Research Committee, Dr Roland Kikon, Bokali Shohe, Rentsamo J. Humtsoe, Pichano Kikon, Alice Kenye, and Dr. Medongunuo Ngone, IQAC Coordinator. The Registration started from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and the inaugural programme started from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The special invitee of the programme was Dr. Karen L. Donoghue, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, NEHU, Shillong, Meghalaya. The Chairperson of the National Seminar was Dr. Roland K. Kikon, Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha, welcome song was presented by MTC students, welcome address was given by Dr. Bweyhunle Khing, Principal, MTC, Wokha, keynote address was given by Dr. Karen L. Donoghue, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, NEHU, Shillong, Meghalaya and vote of thanks was proposed by Khyopenthung Tsopoe Assoc. Prof. MTC, Wokha. This was followed by Tea Break between11:30-12:00 noon.

The Seminar Schedule I (12:00-2:00 PM) was held at Venue-IQAC Room (MTC-Wokha) chaired by Dr. Kenilo Kath, Amikali Jimomi as rapporteur with tech support provided by Zuchonthung Yanthan. Order of Presentation. Tiamenla Imsong Ph.D Scholar, Nagaland University presented paper on‘Traditional Marriage System of the Ao Nagas’. Dr. I. Koktiba Asst. Prof. MTC Wokha presented paper on ‘Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education’. Dr.W. Meribeni Patton Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘Gender Representation in Literature: A Reading of Indian and American Writings in English’. Narotila Imchen Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘NEP 2020 and Higher Education: A Review of Challenges to Implementation’ and Pichano Kikon Librarian, MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘Impact of OER in an Educational System: A Review Study’.

Prof. NEHU, Shillong Meghalaya presented paper on ‘Problems and Challenges in Teaching Internship Program in Meghalaya’, Jasmine Rupini Asst. Prof. College of Teacher Education, Tripura presented paper on ‘NEP 2020- Mother Tongue Perspective’. Zimik Augustine, Asst. Prof. Tripura University &Dr. R. K Mahapatra Professor, Tripura University, presented paper on ‘Protection of Indigenous Knowledge within India’s Intellectual Property Rights Regime: Safeguarding Indian Languages,Arts and Culture’. Dr. Roland K. Kikon, Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘NEP and Employability’. Dr. Azhanuo Peki, Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘A Perspective Study on Institutional Autonomy in the Context of NEP 2020 for Quality Education’ and Dr. Mahabir Jha, Mhonjan N Odyuo, Asst. Prof. Yingli College & Chichanbeni N. Odyuo, Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha presented paper on ‘Impact of NEP-2020 on Higher Education: An Analysis’. We had lunch break between 2:00- 3:00PM afternoon.

The Valedictory Session (3:00-4:00PM) was chaired by Dr. I. Koktiba Convener, Research Committee MTC, Wokha, cultural item was presented by MTCSU and speech was delivered by Dr. Rosanna Kikon Assoc. Prof. MTC, Wokha.  Seminar report was maintained by Khrunuto Kezo, Asst. Prof. MTC, Wokha and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Azhanuo Peki, Coordinator, Organizing Committee.
